There’s a little background on this. 30 odd years ago I was given a book of Celtic knotwork cross-stitch patterns as a gift. From it I created a set of web doodads for use on web pages (such as they were at the time). They were colorful and fun; I did them as pixel art so they had very crisp transparency edges. I got bit by the knotwork frame bug and went on to create designs of my own, mainly to incorporate as frames, backgrounds, etc.

Fast-forward 30 years and I’ve recently undertaken a project to redo these older knotwork frame pixel art files. I’m converting them to fully scalable vectors, appropriate for use in dye sublimation or printing. They’re also good for use in graphic design. As I have redone these I’d considered making them available as purchasable downloads. Ultimately I hope to have other designs available as well – I have a number of stylized animal themed designs I’ve made over the years – but it feels kind of fitting to me that the knotwork is the first one.

The whole design itself is close to an 8×10 ratio. It’s hard with knotwork to be exact because of the patterning. Included with the package are small svg and png files of all the repeating sections and corners.
Shown in green here so it’s easier to see, but the packaged pattern is a simple black on transparent. You can use these to create larger or smaller frames with image editing software.
